Every two years, Bolzano organizes its famous South Tyrol Gourmet Festival or Genuss Festival of Südtirol. Write it down on your bucket list, because you don’t want to miss this party!
During this festival, the medieval city center turns into a world of pleasures: colorful market stands, people dressed in authentic costumes (they even elect an Apple Queen, no joke!) and plenty of regional culinary culture. Apples, apple juice, berries, bread, vegetables, grappa, honey, milk, dairy products, speck, wine and beef, every single product you’ll taste here wears the South Tyrol Quality Seal.
Get up in the morning for the swinging bubbles breakfast, stroll around the Piazza Walther and don’t forget to pass the “speck square”, learn to make bread or apfelstrüdel and end the day with the Alto Adige wine party. You’ll think you’ll be in foodie heaven!
Besides tasting and feasting, the local producers are present to give you more information about their products and their way of working. Furthermore, there are many activities on the squares such as games for kids and live music bands playing all day long!
